November 13, 2025
The federal government and SBA are officially open for business again, and the Great Lakes Commercial Finance Team is already working to submit applications and move projects forward.
With the President’s signature now in place, SBA’s Office of Capital Access has reopened its loan systems. ETRAN is live as of 12:01 a.m. on November 13, and SBA has confirmed that applications will be processed in the order they are received.
During the shutdown, our team continued working behind the scenes, reviewing documentation, preparing new applications, and staying in close contact with borrowers and lenders. Because of that preparation, we are now submitting the applications we completed during the shutdown and are ready to move new projects into the queue as well.
Here is what borrowers and lenders should know:
- SBA opened the ETRAN loan system for new loan applications at 12:01 a.m. EST this morning.
-
SBA will process residual loan applications (those submitted but not yet decisioned when the government closed), 327 loan modification requests, USCIS verifications, and compliance check reviews first, then process new applications in order of receipt.
-
ETRAN Servicing remains active, and SBA will continue to process loan modifications that were previously submitted.
-
The new guaranty fee schedules for Fiscal Year 2026 are now in effect for both the 504 and 7(a) programs, applying to all loans approved on or after October 1, 2025.
-
The December 504 Debenture Sale is moving forward, with SBA extending the package submission deadline to Friday, November 14, at 5 p.m. EST.
SBA has also announced plans for a Lender Connect call to provide further updates as they work through the current inventory and ensure a smooth restart.
GLCF will continue to monitor SBA communications closely and share any new information that may affect your loan or project timeline.
If you have been waiting to start a new SBA 504 loan or have a project in progress, now is the time to reach out. Our team is fully focused on keeping your business goals on track.
